Lily Ponds Work Sessions

RADCLIFFE CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS – SATURDAY AFTERNOON 10th SEPTEMBER, 2 – 4 p,m.

‘We will be continuing to clear Himalayan balsam down by the Lily Ponds / riverside.  If you can spare a couple of hours, then do come along and join us. Meet up by the shelter in Rockley Memorial Park at 2 p.m.  Balsam is very invasive but is quite easy to pull by hand as the root is shallow. However it often grows in patches among nettles or thistles and the area we will be working in is heavily overgrown.  For that reason long sleeves and trousers are definitely advisable  A decent pair of gardening gloves is a must and please wear sensible footwear, e.g. boots or maybe wellies for the damp areas.  It can be quite warm work so do bring along a drink too.’
