We’re aware the sharp cost of living increases in recent months have had a deep impact on so many of our residents and us all with inflation at over a 30 year high and unprecedented fuel and travel costs.

That’s why we now have a dedicated webpage www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/costofliving that our Customer Service Advisors are signposting residents to when chatting over wider financial concerns.

It includes the Government’s cost of living support factsheet, ways to maximise income, benefits and pension credit and highlights the latest on housing benefit and council tax support and handy calculators to give all further ways to manage and budget outgoings.

General benefit advice from the website the Government backed Moneyhelper and partners at the County Council is also available whilst the general budgeting advice from the Citizens’ Advice work out your budget tool. It also contains some useful information regarding grants and benefits available to help pay energy bills.

Severn Trent’s Big Difference scheme is available for those on a low income and there’s specialised advice on debt issues including from debt charity Step Change.
