Major housing development application refused

The planning application for developing 300 new homes on land north of Nottingham Road Radcliffe-on-Trent, considered at our Development Control Committee last night, was refused planning permission.
The site is in the greenbelt and Members were not satisfied that there were ‘very special circumstances’ (eg housing need within the Borough) which outweighed the harm to the greenbelt. The applicant may now appeal to the Planning Inspectorate to have the decision reviewed. This can be undertaken any time up to 6 months from now.
