Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to maintain the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and landscape maintenance, with experience in using both hand tools and power tools. This role is essential for ensuring that our grounds are well-kept, safe, and inviting for all visitors and members of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance of gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
  • Irrigate plants and lawns to ensure healthy growth and sustainability.
  • Assist in the planting, growing, and care of flowers, shrubs, and trees in the village.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all groundskeeping equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying any issues that require attention.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute landscaping projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations while performing groundskeeping duties.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with garden care techniques, including planting, watering, and fertilising.
  • Proficient in using power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • To carry out planting maintenance and grounds maintenance tasks – Inclusive of (but not exhaustive) – borders, and shrubs, sweeping & leaf clearance, maintaining public spaces, watering, planting out, weeding, border maintenance, general clearance, painting, tidying graves, memorial areas, chippings and decorative bark
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Good physical fitness level to perform manual labour tasks effectively.
  • To inspect play areas weekly and report any defects
  • To carry out weekly and monthly inspections of the village defibrillators and report any defects
  • A valid driver’s licence may be required for operating groundskeeping vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £22,880.00-£24,300.00 per year
